It gathers and preserves the tools used by the salt-workers: shovels, bats, ropes, wheelbarrows and baskets; it also shows by mean of several pictures and panels the traditional production technologies.

The very little island Calcara has been one among others that numbered the front of Trapanese coast, Drepanum. It was the first landing place people coming from sea found once in this area that had been made up of pools and bogs. In 1604 six little islands were linked in order to reinforce the town's walls.
