Jazz here we are! The first jazz record was made by Nick La Rocca ho was from Salaparuta. Here jazz finds its birth thanks to a group of young musicians: Luis Prima and Roppolo were from Salaparuta too! The tow celebrates this particular occasion with events and concerts. Also Salaparuta underwent the earthquake in 1968 so there are two different town a ruined one a modern one right at the first one side.

Not long ago has been restored the ancient Mather church and the Cappuccini monastery. The XV c. statue of Bianca di Navarra is preserved inside the new Mother Church. On San Giuseppe fest altars are arranged for a great celebration that include the whole town and on Easter Day besides the statue representing Christ and the Holy Mary you should try a typical dish: la 'nfigghiulata together with the precious DOC wine here produced.
