Old San Nicola parish, became the perfect room for exhibitions and preservation of the sacred furnishings that had been property of Trapanese Church, once it had lost its proper number of parishioners. Together with Sant'Agostino church, they guest now traveling exhibitions and celebrate the sacred arts throughout many an occasion. The Wooden Cross by the young Michelangelo was the opening event and showed an overview of the Holy Cross throughout the centuries from XIV to XVII. In the same time, Sant'Alberto church guested an exhibition dedicated to the Holy Cross in contemporary art: Across the Cross. The exhibition dedicated to Jesus Hominum Salvator showed how artists represented events from the Bible between XIV and XVII c. A really interesting show took place in 2011: it involved even visitors. The event was dedicated to a traditional sculptural technique used from XVIIc. and together with the Superintendence of Trapani, it arranged a room where skilled restorers and visitors worked on old sculptures made with glue and canvas.
