It was left unfinished when the Comapagnia di Gesù was abolished and only later it was opened again to be ultimated after jointed repair works. Inside we find three aisles richly operated with Mischi Marbles, as the baroque churches in Palermo are. The vault is decorated with plasters and it was a work of Bartolomeo Sanseverino, who was one of Giacomo Serpotta pupils (XVIIc.). On the high altar the picture which shows the Immacolata Concezione, is that painted by Ignazio Marabitti (1711). Outside the front is the perfect example of the shift between baroque and mannerism. The church preserves many other refined works produced by painters and sculptors as for instance Pietro Novelli and Giuseppe Milanti.
