Inside it is preserved the statue of the young saint by Gagini, standing in the San Vito Chapel which is adorned with plaster sculpture by Orazio Ferraro (1624-1628). On the same statue are represented events of the Saint's life at his feet that are particularly smoothy because the pilgrims had the habit to devotedly kiss the statue. It is possible to admire even an underground room where had been two pits used by the pilgrims. The tower was built later in the XVII c. by the architect Camilliani who planned the coast defence system by will of the viceroy Colonna.
