The Arabian-Norman castle: a Mediterranean history keeper.
The Arabian-Norman castle on the city bay, which is since ages the symbol of Castellammare, is become today the place where the historical- artistically and anthropological inheritance of this land is preserved and enhanced. It develops into four sections: Prehistory, Life by sea, Our Lady of Soccorso and Castellammare on stage.

It develops into four sections: Prehistory, inside the Dammusu di lu Baruni, shows a collection of fossils and ammonites gathered by Doc La Grassa who found them inside the Horse Cave on Inici Mountain; Life by sea, with many an trade amphora and anchor stumps from the Roman era besides the precious little statue made of hard pottery from the VI c. b. C. it had been found by chance under the bay's waters and represents probably Demetra a pagan goddess, tools used in the tuna-fishing and several navigation devices; Our Lady of Soccorso is the section dedicated to the Madonna del Soccorso who is the lady protector of the town. The last section of the museum, Castellammare on stage, is a collection of images where Castellammare has played a star role in Films, spots and reality shows, one among the others " Ocean Twelve". The Arabian-Norman Castle is the very keeper of the history and inheritance of a people.
